CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization gave recommendations about expanding eligibility of Covid-19 vaccine booster doses to young children of 5 years of age through 11 and to older adults
As new recommendations all children under 5 years through 11 years should receive a booster shot after 5 months of their first dose.
All young children receive Pfizer vaccines only ,even this booster dose should be Pfizer vaccines ,since the beginning of covid-19 pandemic more than 4.8 millions of children aged 5 years through 11 were infected with Covid-19 ,, 15.000 of them have been hospitalized unfortunately 180 from them have died
According to these new Recommendations ,they believe booster dose will increase their body immunity by increasing also chance of surviving and protect them against severe disease.
People with 12 years of age and older are encouraged t take their second booster dose at least 4 months after their first ,especially for people with compromised immunity in order to boost their protective immunity against severity of Covid-19 .
Dr Rochelle P.Walensky said " I endorsed ACIP's vote to expand eligibility for covid-19 booster vaccine doses , children 5 through 11 should receive receive a booster dose at least 5 months after their primary series.
