Omeprazole is a drug used to treat Gastroesophageal reflux disease, Peptic ulcer diseases and Zollinger Ellison syndrome .

It is also sold under names of Prilosec and Losec , Omeprazole is proton pump inhibitor ,it can be taken by mouth or by intravenously.

Headache

Dizziness

Cough

Abdominal pain

Diarrhea

Nausea and vomiting

Flatulence

Constipation

Back pain

Weakness

Dermatological Rash

Hypomagnesemia

What should I do if I forget to take this medicine? 

Don't take this medicine ,when it's about time for next ,wait for next dose .taking 2 doses without thinking about required time interval for 2 consecutive dose can lead to overdosage.

Warnings

Do not take this medication with alcohol

It's better to tell you health care before taking this medicine if you have kidney and liver diseases.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding 

Epidemiological data do not show increased major birth defects due to Omeprazole  intake ,but studies are needed .

In breastfeeding mother ,studies done showed no effects on their child ,one studies found that Omeprazole has plasma binding capacity above 90% ,this means there is small quantity that can be found in breast milk..

Before taking this medication

Make sure

You don't have respiratory problems

You do not have kidney and liver problems
